What is Podcasting?
Podcasting is all about the creation and distribution of digital media via the internet to computers, portable devices and even to the TV. It allows anyone with a simple laptop computer, a microphone or a video camera to become their own digital publisher overnight with a potentially worldwide reach for little or no cost.
Course Description
This workshop explores the benefits of podcasting in the business environment and promotes its usage as a sales, communications and marketing tool.
It will provide the attendee with an understanding of podcast creation and the associated technologies used, primarily focusing on developing a strategy for their use but will also look at some simple techniques to enable them to be created in house. The workshop will also cover choosing appropriate equipment, as well as planning and designing your podcasts.
In addition, simple audio Podcast recording and editing will be demonstrated using a free open source PC based software application (Audacity) and publishing, via the free open source blogging software - Wordpress. Using both demonstrations and hands on exercises the session will cover just how easy podcasting can be.
Following the workshop, the attendee will have the basic knowledge and skills to produce their very own podcast.

Basic computer skills - no podcasting experience required.
